ITT Technical Institute of Kansas City is looking for an instructor for their September quarter CM430 Mechanical Systems class starting the week of September 14. The class will be on Wednesday nights, 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The quarter runs 12 weeks, with 10 lectures/lab and the final.

The Construction Management Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaches material from approved curriculum and develops daily lesson plans to include instructional aides.
• Participates in school retention initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
• Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
• Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with college standards.
• Maintains expertise in subject area and recommends improvements in curriculum design.
• Instructs students in laboratory safety procedures if applicable.
• Performs duties in the Learning Resource Center as assigned.
• When possible, participates in core course academic support programs, certification programs, and student professional associations.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years applicable experience in Architecture, Construction Science or Civil Engineering.
• Master's degree with 15 semester hours in the subject matter area at the bachelors or masters degree level required. Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
• Experience in Commercial Mechanical Sytems including eletrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills required.
• Ability to utilize different methods and mediums in delivering course material.
• Experience in organizing and writing reports and presentations of a technical nature.
• Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking, problem solving and judgment skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the Internet, and management system software.
• Proven track record of project completions, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle a high pressure environment with significant timeline pressures.
• Past history of developing and maintaining constructive working relationships with others and maintaining them overtime.
• Able to obtain and maintain licenses if applicable as required by state or accrediting commissions.

August Mo-Kan RUG Meeting - Family Fun Night

Hey all greater Kansas City Reviteers, the next RUG (Revit User Group) meeting for August is set for Thursday, August 26th 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at HNTB's office at 715 Kirk Drive, Kansas City, MO‎ 64015 - (816) 472-1201.

The topic for this meeting will be "Family Fun Night."

We'll have something to eat from 5:30 - 6:00. Then from 6:00 - 6:30 we will be blessed with gems of wisdom from Vicky Borchers of Burns & McDonnell, who has graciously offered to teach us all a little about creating Revit families. We'll follow that with 15 min. of Q&A, and from 6:45 - 7:00 we'll close with future RUG agendas and other business up for discussion.

First Revit User Group Meeting

Welcome!

This will be the first of what will be the spot for updates on Revit User Group (RUG) meetings for any and all Revit users of the greater Kansas City area. Because there have been numerous requests to start a Revit user group that covers all three Revit products - Architecture, Structure and MEP, a group of three of us have gotten together to do just that - to start a user group for the users and by the users, so that all members can have some say over what the group covers and how.

So come prepared to meet other users and us (Angela, Heathe and William) and our sponsors (no sales pitches), and we'll set the stage for what we plan to be fun, but informative and edifying get togethers. At our first meeting we will see who all shows, discuss these same plans for the group, come up with some future topics, lay some of the ground rules and form others based on whatever the group wants.

With that said, please do two things: first of all COME JOIN US!!, and second, please spread the word to as many folks in the area as you can.
